Hi,
I'm just wondering if anyone's knows if 'Businness Socks' have actually been made anywhere yet? I.e. just socks that say 'businness socks' on them. It just struck me they'd make an amusing b-day present for a conchord-loving friend of mine but I can't seem to come up with anything on the net yet! Any ideas?

Thanks!

Why the Conchords really took flight

5:00AM Sunday June 29, 2008

By Michelle Coursey

They're New Zealand's hottest international artists, have been nominated for an Emmy - and are now worth millions of dollars.

But it appears a relatively paltry sum of $300,000 was the real reason TVNZ turned down comedy duo Flight of the Conchords four years ago.

That much-criticised decision by TVNZ's commissioners led the Conchords, Wellingtonians Bret McKenzie and Jemaine ...

Flight Of The Conchords and the US version of The Office are among the comedies on a ‘longlist’ of potential Emmy nominations.

For the first time ever, America’s most prestigious TV awards have revealed a list of the top ten programmes, as chosen by all its voting members.

This weekend, a panel of judges will attend screenings of all the shows to produce the final list of five nominees, to be revealed on July 17.

Flight Of The Conchords: comedy Kiwis on their musical dabblings

For those of us that found Vince Noir’s hair-fixated surrealism just a touch too pleased with itself in The Mighty Boosh’s lukewarm third round of instalments this year, HBO’s superb Flight Of The Conchords series was simply manna from heaven, chronicling the unstintingly lo-fi adventures of a pair of aspirant Kiwi musicians and their less-than-convincing attempts to take New York by storm.

The LAT undertakes an important sociological mission today, highlighting the basic costuming differences between two very different breeds of obsessive fanperson: The Sex and the City fan and the Flight of the Conchords fan. While one group leans towards unabashed label-whoredom and pricey slingbacks, and the other towards Little Joy-friendly ironic hipsterwear and All-Stars, they manage to find some common ground in the category of animal prints—though in SATC's case, they're ...

Flight of the Conchords get down to their socks.

// Words: Jeff Renaud

You would think following up a Grammy win for best comedy album with their first ever full-length studio release would push Flight of the Conchords into at least the Top 3 in the race to become New Zealand’s most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo, but alas, Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement remain the odd band out.

Conchords cofrontman Jemaine Clement (the one with the glasses) calls us from the Ritz-Carlton in Phoenix.

Focus, People! There’s Work to Do

Writers' rooms are as idiosyncratic as writers themselves: a system of organization has to be devised to keep track of plots and characters. Some writers prefer lots of stress relievers to play with during their usual marathon script-writing sessions; others like to stay as focused as possible. Food — what's permissible, when and where it can be eaten ...

There has been one myspace page in particular that had over 500 fans. It was Jemaine that was supposedly posting many bulletins and blogs about the writers' strike, random gigs, and political issues, which became a very heated issue. About three days ago Jemaine stated that he would be far too busy for myspace until May because of touring and the new movie. Since then, the page has been ...
